The Gift Revolution Lives On!

Who said The Gift Revolution had to end @ Christmas?

Today Dorcas & I were having lunch @ a great sandwich shop in Lima called Pasquale.  It has some of the best sandwiches in Lima.  Those of you that were w/ us in 2007 for the Extreme Makeover @ the girls' orphanage will remember the awesome turkey sandwiches they made for us.

As Dorcas & I were having lunch today, a group of students & their teacher walked in to Pasquale.  It turns out they were a group of students from a local culinary institute in Lima.  The teacher wanted to show them how Pasquale operated, as an example of a successful, local, Peruvian-owned restaurant.

The teacher also wanted to treat the 10 students to lunch, but she didn't have much $$$ on her.  So she order just 5 sandwiches, so that each student could have a half a sandwich.  She didn't order any drinks at all.

Because we were seated right next to the group of students, we were able to hear everything that was going on, & we decided to bring a little bit of the Christmas/Gift Revolution spirit to Pasquale in April!  Dorcas snuck up to the counter & ordered 11 sandwiches & drinks, one for each student & the teacher.  They were quite surprised to see the 11 drinks & sandwich baskets arrive @ their table!  Of course, we also took advantage of the opportunity to distribute FRC-Lima promo cards to the group.

The Gift Revolution was great in December, but it turned out to be pretty cool at the end of April, too!
